Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) Twenty20 Competition 2011

In the Sri Lanka's Premier League Twenty20 competition (SLPL), Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi(Nagenahira Nagans/Eastern Province) and former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori(Uthura Oryxes/Northern Province) have been named to lead two provincial sides.

Sri Lanka Cricket unveiled the team names for the provinces.

TM Dilshan : Basnahira Bears ( Western Province )
Kumar Sangakkara : Kandurata Kites ( Central Province )
Mahela Jayawardena : Wayamba Wolves ( North Western Province )
Sanath Jayasuriya : Ruhuna Rhinos ( Southern Province )
Chaminda Vaas : Uva Unicorns ( Uva Province )
Shaheed Afridi : Nagenahira Nagas ( Eastern Province )
Daniel Vettori : Uthura Oryxes ( Northern Province )

The SLC board plans to add two more provinces to the tournament within three years

As unconfirmed sources,retired great Muttiah Muralitharan is also play in the series.
The event organisers, Somerert Entertainment Ventures (SEV) said, the Sri Lanka T20 Premier League will feature almost 35 international cricketing stars.
Sri Lanka Cricket have confirmed the dates for the first edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League will be from July 19 to August 4, 2011. The seven provinces will play 24 matches,including the semifinals and final over the 18 days, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Therd are 5 overseas players can registe for a provincial team . But only 4 will be allowed to play in a match. Sri Lankan national selectors and cricket authorities have agreed to contribute as many youngsters and almost 70 Sri Lankan cricketers will be registered in the SLPL.
Chris Gayle Dwayne Bravo and Bravo from West Indies, Irfan Pathan and Yousuf Pathan from India, Herschelle Gibbs, David Warner and Shaun Tait will be seen in action on Sri Lankan Premier League.
In addition that all Pakistani national cricketers will be invited to play in the SLPL.
Shoaib Akhtar, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Umar Akmal, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Misbah ul Haq conformed their attendence to the SLPL.
